A very happy Thursday to all! I apologize that the uniform news has been a little dry this week. I’m still working on content ideas for stretches like this, so please bear with me.
That being said, it’s been a fun week for Philly despite none of our teams actually playing in any games. Tuesday night, Kyle Schwarber electrified a seemingly-average MLB All-Star Game with his MVP performance.
And then last night, our beloved Birds basically took over the relatively pointless annual ESPN award show, the ESPYs. Comedian and Philly diehard Shane Gillis hosted a hilarious night that probably made everyone else hate us, if they didn’t already. He used opportunities to inject his fandom into the broadcast, and we love him for that. Here he is announcing the nominees for “Best Team.”
Saquan deservedly won “Best Play” for backwards hurdling over a Jaguar.
Oh, and then guess what? The Eagles went on to WIN “Best Team.”
And finally, Gillis showed off some of his tongue-in-cheek humor to deliver a prerecorded bit about the Tush Push.
Keep reppin’ Philly and never change, Shane. Have a great weekend everyone and of course…
GO BIRDS
